Supplier Engineer

Job Summary

Applied Materials is seeking to serve as the primary quality focal point supporting high-volume manufacturing operations. This role focuses on executing quality strategies, driving supplier improvement initiatives, resolving escalations, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance supplier performance and ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary supplier quality representative for Manufacturing Operations.
• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement priorities and strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve SCARs and address manufacturing escalations.
• Lead systemic supplier issue resolutions, including generation and execution of 8D corrective actions.
• Use enterprise-wide software tools to manage and document quality issues, including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action verification.
• Support supplier qualification for new and existing vendors aligned with manufacturing needs.
• Work with Chief Operating Officers (COOs) to drive supplier quality improvements that support cost savings goals.
• Conduct or participate in supplier and process audits following corporate and industry standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Applied Materials’ Quality Management System documentation.
• Communicate project progress, milestones, and supplier performance updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality roles.
• Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and apply best practices to improve quality processes.
• Demonstrated leadership in functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities using analytical methods, including 8D methodology.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and negotiating complex quality solutions.

Salary

• Salary Range: $96,000 – $132,000 annually.
• Final offer will be based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and internal equity.
• For sales roles, posted range reflects Total Target Cash (TTC), including base salary and target bonus at 100% goal achievement.
