Cable Installer

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for installing and repairing satellite equipment to ensure seamless voice, data, and video services. The position requires working independently to complete installations, educate customers on service functionality, and uphold company standards for quality and safety. As a key representative of DIRECTV, the successful candidate will deliver best-in-class customer service while promoting the company’s technology and solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Install and service satellite equipment at customer locations, including working at heights on ladders and raised surfaces.
• Educate customers on the features and functionality of DIRECTV services.
• Verify service functionality and demonstrate, sell, and bill video services while engaging with customers.
• Perform installation work in various settings, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces, requiring bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Use company-provided PC and tools to retrieve and complete work orders.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
• Drive a company vehicle and/or report directly to designated work locations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state driver’s license appropriate for vehicle weight and size.
• Successful completion of a driving record check.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-area work, including overnight stays.
• Ability to pass required drug testing and security checks.
• Capability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions.
• Ability to work in various environments, including non-heated or non-air-conditioned spaces.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Successful completion of the Premise Technician Assessment Technical.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and complete a Physical Abilities Evaluation (PAE).
• Compliance with manufacturer safety requirements for ladder use (body weight must not exceed 275 pounds).
• Capability to perform work involving kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling.

Salary:

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $26.25-$28.87 per hour, plus applicable bonuses and benefits.
• Compensation is based on work location, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Additional Cash Award:

• $2,000 bonus upon successful completion of training.
• $1,000 bonus after six months of continuous employment.
• $2,000 bonus after 12 months of continuous employment.
• Eligibility for cash awards requires meeting all milestones while maintaining good standing with no Code of Business Conduct (COBC) violations or written disciplinary actions.
