Food Equipment Service Technician

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for repairing and performing preventative maintenance on food production equipment in supermarkets. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical systems, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with external vendors to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform unsupervised repairs on food production equipment using troubleshooting and safety techniques.
• Plan and conduct preventative maintenance on food manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Communicate with supervisors and store personnel to determine best repair practices and assess downtime.
• Coordinate with external maintenance vendors as needed.
• Maintain accurate records on equipment repairs and manage inventory for maintenance tools and parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Technical training through apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems independently.
• Knowledge of controls, electricity, and machine principles, including fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and lubrication.
• Understanding of layout and design techniques.
• Experience with AC/DC motors and gas combustion systems.
• Mechanical skills, including welding and plumbing knowledge.
• Preferred: Experience with supermarket or restaurant equipment, including applicable codes and regulations.
