Machine Operator

Job Summary:

You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing both fiber and copper services, using advanced equipment like tractors, trenchers, and boring machines. You will work independently in the field, collaborating with local utilities, customers, and government agencies while following safety standards and providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

• Locate buried facilities near service wire routes using appropriate equipment.
• Operate company vehicle with trailer and machinery.
• Perform manual excavation with a shovel when necessary.
• Provide repairs to low voltage buried utilities, sprinkler systems, and sewage field lines.
• Maintain and repair equipment used for operations.
• Read and interpret basic instructions for job execution.
• Follow established safety practices and procedures.
• Update work status using hand-held devices and computer systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to work Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime and holiday work.
• Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions.
• Ability to operate various machines and tools, including manual shifts when required.
• Capacity to lift and move up to 120 pounds.
• Possession of a Light Commercial Driver's License (or equivalent) based on state laws.
• Ability to attain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Previous experience with similar equipment is preferred but not required.
• Complete on-the-job training and demonstrate competency during the probationary period.

Machine Operators at AT&T earn between $480.00 and $1,062.00 weekly, with an average starting salary of $51,064.00 annually.
