Baggage Systems Technician

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled person to repair, maintain, and assess electrical assets within the airport’s baggage systems. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of baggage by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated baggage system technical issues.
• Collaborate with planning and controls teams to complete complex or time-intensive repairs.
• Implement workarounds to maintain baggage system functionality during downtime.
• Perform technical maintenance as outlined in job plans, updating as needed.
• Inspect, assess, and report on the electrical and mechanical condition of infrastructure.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum two years of experience working with mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Accreditation with a Red Seal Endorsement or BC Trade Qualification as an Electrician.
• Strong communication skills, including report writing.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex baggage layouts and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.

Salary:

$78,537 to $102,646 per year, based on a 40-hour work week and aligned with experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
