New Business Representative

Job Summary:

PG&E is seeking to manage customer contact, project coordination, billing, and contract preparation for gas and electric facility installations. This role involves overseeing project scope, schedule, and cost while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The position includes both office work and site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure job designs comply with company and state safety standards.
• Prepare field sketches and layouts for construction planning.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and cost from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure project success.
• Monitor project schedules and prioritize work accordingly.
• Conduct pre-engineering and pre-construction meetings, addressing risks proactively.
• Minimize costs for both applicants and PG&E while ensuring accurate financial tracking.
• Communicate project status and facilitate resolution of project-related disputes.
• Prepare contracts and ensure compliance with standards and tariffs.
• Provide applicants with accurate rate and rule information, cost estimates, and timelines.
• Negotiate estimating and construction dates that align with customer expectations.
• Ensure all tariff-mandated charges are secured before construction begins.
• Maintain proper project documentation and ensure all permits and land rights are secured.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in construction project management or PG&E technical service planning.
• 12 months of experience as a Hiring Hall New Business Representative, Senior New Business Representative, or Engineering Estimator.
• Valid Class C California Driver's License (or higher) by Day 1 of hire.
• California minimum insurance coverage if using a personal vehicle.

Desired:

• Resides within 50 miles of the headquarters.
• Strong project management, customer contact, and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email).
• Familiarity with tariffs, rates, contracts, Work Management (WM) SAP, and PG&E work processes.
• Ability to work with internal and external customers.
• Facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work as a team and build agreement.
• Strong focus on safety and proactive customer service.
• Demonstrates initiative, decisiveness, and sound judgment.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience using measurement tools (Range Finder, Height Stick, Shovel, etc.) in the field.

Salary:

• Starting wage rate: $48.58 per hour
